What is World Vegan Day?

World Vegan Day is on the 1st of November, and it’s celebrated by vegans around the world annually.

It’s a day to celebrate the benefits of veganism for humans, animals, and the environment. Celebrations include activities such as markets, hosting potluck dinners, and planting trees.

Since being established in the UK in 1994, it has grown to a world-wide world-wide phenomenon. Businesses can offer special promotions and deals on the day too.

World Vegan Day was first held in 1994 as a way of commemorating the 50th anniversary of the UK Vegan Society and the creation of the word “Vegan”.

Since then, it has grown to a date and event that is recognised and celebrated world-wide.

The celebrations give business an opportunity to promote awareness of their ability to provide vegan goods and services for consumers.

A business can get involved without signing up to any organisation for registration.

World Vegan Day is celebrated on the 1st of November each year.

World Vegan Month is an annual celebration in November.

This month, vegand and plant-based eaters from across the world come together to celebrate 100% cruelty-free lifestyles.

So, it’s important to note that celebrations now extend beyond the 1st of November.

Now, World Vegan Day is the start of World Vegan Month too.

The keyword ‘world vegan day’ attracts an average of 1000 to 10000 web searches a month on Google. 

Most searches occur in November, when search activity surges. Interest is highest in the first week of November, and then it returns to average annual monthly volumes by the end of the second week of November.

But, if you’re looking to market your vegan products and services it’s important to note that there’s another smaller but longer spike during the month of October. That’s when people start looking for market, events, specials and ideas in the lead up to the celebration.

We recommend preparing your vegan marketing campaign for World Vegan Day by the end of September, and launching the promotion on the 1st weekend in October.

If you run a vegan affiliate blog or an organic grocery store, look for examples of promotions that include World Vegan Day shopping lists or coupons.

So, we did market research to see where the interest in World Vegan Day is most concentrated around the world. Google Trends have a measure for this, which is a 1-100 scale.

Google explains: “A higher value means a higher proportion of all queries, not a higher absolute query count. So a tiny country where 80% of the queries are for ‘bananas’ will get twice the score of a giant country where only 40% of the queries are for ‘bananas’.”

Surprised? We were!

We found something else too.

Overall, Melbourne (Australia) has been the city with the highest intensity of search activity in the world over the last 5 years. It’s closely followed by London.
